iOS — USB MIDI Setup
Follow these steps to connect your iPhone or iPad to Cubase via USB:
- Download and install the Cubase Smart Controller app on your iOS device.
- Download the Cubase script matching your Cubase version and install it.
- Connect your iOS device to your Mac or PC using a Lightning / USB-C cable.
- iOS will automatically expose itself as a MIDI device to the host computer.
- Open Cubase and go to Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Port Setup.
- Enable the MIDI input/output for your iOS device.
- Open the app on your iOS device — it should connect automatically.
Requires iOS 14.0 or higher. An Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter or USB-C cable is needed for older iPhone models.
