Android — USB MIDI Setup

Follow these steps to connect your Android device to Cubase via USB:

  1. Download and install the Cubase Smart Controller app on your Android device.
  2. Download the Cubase script matching your Cubase version and install it.
  3. Connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable.
  4. On your Android device, set the USB connection mode to MIDI.
  5. Open Cubase and go to Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Port Setup.
  6. Enable the MIDI input/output for your Android device.
  7. Open the app on your Android device — it should connect automatically.
Some Android devices may require a USB OTG adapter. Make sure your cable supports data transfer (not charge-only).
